Program Participants – Success Stories

For three years Mohamad Jabr attended CCS’s LINC program, and described his teachers as, “Knowledgeable, kind, and caring.”, at the AGM. “I have been in Canada for five years now. The wonderful experiences that I have had here in Canada are the best experiences ever. I have never lived in such a country that respects humanity as Canada does. When it comes to school, I couldn’t believe, as a 74-year-old man that I would be able to memorize new vocabularies and made good friends just like a 10-year-old young boy. The experience that I had in school was an amazing experience. I enjoyed learning and I benefited a lot. In fact, all the credit goes to the management and teachers of CCS.” Acknowledging LINC instructors such as Saiema Naik.

“Those teachers were caring, passionate, and patient. These are some of the things that made me love everything about CCS.”

Tono Fernandez came to Canada in 2021, at the height of the pandemic, and is a certified teacher with 18 years of experience. At the AGM, he spoke about the difficult process of gaining his certification to teach in Canada. CCS helped him get his teaching career in Canada on track, and he got hired as a teacher in August. “That was the turning point.” By providing options he wasn’t aware of, and helping him navigate the system, he received his OCT certification. “I had lots of confidence; I had the power that you have to go and get it… CCS Attitude Prevails.” He especially expressed his gratitude for the help of Anita Pirzada, Employment Access Coach and Nirupa Rasiah, Settlement Worker.
