Giving Tuesday Now — May 5, 2020

Many newcomers, immigrants and refugees are struggling during this time of unprecedented uncertainty.

Giving Tuesday Now is a worldwide a day of generosity and action in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic where individuals and charities are mobilizing to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

CCS is pleased to be participating and here is how you can help us help our clients on May 5.

• The pandemic has compelled us to rethink our delivery model to address service gaps.

Donate to CCS to support immigrants, refugees and newcomers and help us provide:

o Emotional support and safety planning for women experiencing gender-based violence
o Help for families with school work and interactive activities
o Online English-language training
o Assistance with government supports and online portals for critical resources
o “Virtual” conversation circles for seniors and drop-ins for youth

• Show your support for our work with newcomers on social media, using the hashtags: #CCSNewcomers #GivingTuesdayNow & #StaySafe

• Commit an act of kindness for someone while staying physically distant

• Pin your story of your act of kindness to the global #GivingTuesdayNow map and check out the stories already there
