For many students who are newcomers to Canada, high school in Ontario is very different from their previous school and the first few months can be stressful.

CCS’ Life Hacks program is a fun, interactive, high school readiness program designed to ease newcomer students’ anxiety about the year ahead and build their confidence.

The program is open to newcomer youth entering any high school year!
Activities are “peer-led” with older kids providing support to newcomer students throughout the program.

We can help you:
• Learn about Toronto’s high school system, (including timetables, ESL pathways, graduation requirements, school routines and COVID-19 protocols).
• Connect with new people, learn tips for success, and build a toolbox for personal health and wellbeing.
• Learn about community and youth resources.

The program is a new component of CCS’ Newcomer Orientation Week (NOW) initiative, an interactive high school readiness program for newcomer students in TDSB and TCDSB schools that is coordinated through CCS’s Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) program, where we help the students and their families adjust to their new community.

There is still time to register – sessions run all month.
