Job Search Workshop (JSW)

CCS understands the importance of a "first job" for newcomers in Canada. Our workshops will help job seekers identify their full range of skills, design marketable resumes and assist to overcome the barrier of "No Canadian Experience". CCS will help the job seekers to develop a plan to research for jobs, and provide information about mentorship programs, retraining, education and volunteer opportunities in the community.

Program Description:

  • Job search tips
  • Self-assessment skills
  • Orientation on credential certification, evaluation of educational documents etc.
  • Help in creating marketable resumes and cover letters
  • Accessing the Hidden Job Market
  • Networking techniques
  • Labour market information
  • Preparation for job interviews
  • Completing the Job application
  • Free access to the internet, phone, fax, and photocopier
  • Workshop participants will receive a certificate of completion, with possiblity of volunteer hours

  • Scarborough Location
  • Brampton Location
  • Mississauga Location
  • Sessions:

  • Weekday session: 3 weekdays
    Weekend session: 4 Saturdays
    Evening session: 4 evenings
