Welcoming Communities

The SEPT Program (Settlement and Education Partnership in Toronto) provides newcomer high school students and families with information about free services available by the government and the community.

 

Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) South Scarborough is a collaborative partnership among service providers and stakeholders interested in advancing newcomer issues in three neighbourhoods in Scarborough: Dorset Park, Kingston-Galloway/Orton Park and Scarborough Village.

 

 

Labour Market Access 

EAP (Employment Access Program) is designed to assist newcomer job seekers and internationally-trained professionals reach their job search goals. 

 

 

Language and Skills Development 

The Language and Skills Development program are language classes for convention refugees and landed immigrants who would like to learn English as a second language. 

 

 

Refugee Sponsorship Training Program

Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP) is a program designed to support the Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs) of Canada, their Constituent Groups, Groups of Five and Community Sponsors interested in sponsoring refugees. The objective of RSTP is to address, on a national level, the information and ongoing training needs of the sponsorship community and the initial information needs of refugees.

 

 

Support Services

VAW (Violence Against Women) is supportive counselling to newcomer women who are experiencing domestic violence.   

 

Newcomer Orientation Services provides immigrants and refugees with a place to find accurate information about settling in Canada.
