Job Search Workshop Facilitator (Metro Region)

CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status. CCS is seeking a full-time (35 hours/week) Job Search Facilitator who will provide assistance to immigrants and refugees regarding their job search process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate Job Search Workshops
  • Conduct assessments, information and orientation sessions
  • Facilitate referrals and access to appropriate services in the community
  • Facilitate research, networking, job search and resume writing skills
  • Provide career or vocational counselling to service participants
  • Perform outreach activities to recruit participants
  • Participate in the program evaluation process
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely statistical, financial and progress reports to supervisor as required
  • Participate in program evaluation process and professional development
  • Clients follow-up

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in human services or equivalent training/experience in job search facilitation, coaching and employment counselling
  • Knowledge of current legislation, issues and policies affecting any immigrants and refugees including professional accreditation and equivalency requirements
  • Knowledge of community resources and labour market in Toronto
  • Interview, assessment, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to conduct effective outreach and advocacy strategies
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and other service providers
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-cultural team setting
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Fluency in a second language an asset
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Power Point, Word and Outlook
  • Possession of a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and access to a car is an asset

Salary: $45,000 per annum

Service Bridging Coordinator (Scarborough)
Full Time - 35 hours/week, flexible hours

CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status. CCS is seeking a full-time Service Bridging Coordinator who will work in planning, developing, leading and evaluating the delivery of Service Bridging Project in Scarborough. Through the project, it will build beneficial and reciprocal connections between CCS and other service delivery organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management of project planning, delivery, evaluation and strategic issues to meet expected outcomes of the Service Bridging Project
  • Conduct an internal and external scan to determine service bridging needs, identify solutions and outreach action plan that will improve immigrant access to key community service organizations
  • In cooperation with the Settlement Coordinators and Regional Director, develop and prioritize a Service Bridging that addresses client and community needs
  • Build positive partnerships with community agencies to meet the goals of the Service Bridging strategy
  • Coordinate the involvement of other CCS staff in the Service Bridging strategy
  • Provide support and information to community agencies who want to develop their ability to provide accessible services for immigrants
  • Maintain on-going support to involved community agencies
  • Develop systems to ensure CCS staff have access to up-to-date information about community services
  • Conduct annual review of the Service Bridging strategy and make recommendations for new initiatives
  • Prepare and submit statistical and progress reports including financial information to supervisor as required
  • Liaise with CCS Regional Director, other CCS Program Coordinators and local community agencies
  • Participate in regular program, team regional and community meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Social Work degree or Settlement Counselling diploma from recognized institution or equivalent training in Human Services field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain service partnerships with service providers both in the settlement sector and among non-settlement community agencies
  • Experience in the settlement and community services
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources and services
  • Excellent leadership, communication, planning, interpersonal, organizational and time management skillsKnowledge, understanding and sensitivity to issues and policies affecting immigrant and refugee communities
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills with participants, other agencies and the public
  • Ability to work productively in an MS Office environment
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Possession of a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and access to a car is an asset

Salary Range: $55,000- $61,000 per annum
